Our Eyes Are Fixed On: Lisa Bell
Lover of laughter, silence, Popeye the Sailor Man, and newcomer to the Oral Fixation stage.
Lisa Bell has been tragically gifted by life events that have made her question everything she ever thought she knew about anything and everything she ever thought she knew. She thinks you better laugh to keep from crying. She’s a wounded warrior and the mother of two beautiful daughters.
In Lisa’s Opinion:
Title of your autobiography (if you had one): It Happens On the Inside
Best book read in the last decade: So many different books have been exactly what I needed at the right time. All of them illuminating the awareness of the human condition – my condition. Many books on psychology, spirituality, eastern philosophy, recovery, trauma, somatics, metaphysics, mind-body stuff. All helped me to steadily connect the many dots in my heart and mind. I’ve related most to the Book of Job though. Ecclesiastes is also a favorite.
One thing you miss about being a kid: My family for sure. They were my safety net.
What you want to be when you grow up: Happy. I’m there actually, except I’m broke. So the full answer would be fat and happy, meaning financial liberation. That defines success for a woman.
Most embarrassing moment: I lost all shame awhile back so not much embarrasses me. I did lock my not quite 1-year-old daughter inside the car at Wal-Mart at Christmas time. The fire department came. Typical distracted, mom type stuff.
Weirdest compliment you’ve ever received: That I look ethnic. I’m about as Caucasian as they come!
