Our Eyes Are Fixed On: Cindy Corpier

Lover of the sound of rainfall, lapping waves and William Shakespeare.

Cindy Corpier has moved to Texas twice, both times for her work as a physician.  In her spare time, she travels (still hasn’t seen a whale), writes (not nearly enough) and is always looking for a good story, especially one with a happy ending.

In Cindy’s Opinion:

The title of your autobiography (if you had one): “All You Need is Love…And a Cat”

If you could meet anyone (living or dead): Hmm…William Shakespeare for art, Bill Clinton for politics and Craig, Daniel Craig—no explanation needed.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A working writer with an apartment in Paris.

Your favorite cartoon character: It’s a tie between Max the dog (How the Grinch Stole Christmas):  Joy, innocence, loyalty and a fierce tail wag AND “Race” Bannon (from Jonny Quest): Elegantly handsome, smart, stud pilot with a killer plane.

Favorite Dallas hangout: Not sure, but my least favorite is 635 between 35 and Central.

Most embarrassing mistake you’ve ever made: Repeatedly mispronouncing (for 5 years) the name of a senior colleague by calling him Perro instead of Pedro, which he finally told me is Spanish for dog.

One thing you miss about being a kid:Believing in Santa Claus

Best book(s) read in the last decade: Fiction: The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje

Non-fiction:  Truth and Beauty by Ann Patchett

Be sure to catch Cindy’s story in Cloud Nine at the MAC on January 22nd!
