What inspired you to participate in Oral Fixation? That it is taking place in Texas, where my son was born and where my most difficult abortion took place. Also, I want to be a part of destigmatizing abortion.
What is your favorite smell? The smell of my son’s breath and skin when I used to breastfeed, and the smell of my partner’s kiss.
What is your favorite word? Nam myo ho renge kyo. Nam myo ho renge kyo is the word I chant during my morning and evening prayer to bring forth my highest potential and to see the highest potential in others.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I am grown up now and doing exactly what I dreamed of doing, which is being a Public Health Nurse and providing support to women and newborns in their homes.
Sneak peak: “He couldn’t keep a stable job and I hadn’t found a stable career. I still had the dream of going to graduate school and now of becoming a nurse. I knew it would be even harder to advance in life as a single mother of two children, and I wasn’t willing to take the risk.”
