Our Current Fix: Conspiracy for Good

conspiracy for good

“A few years ago, I started thinking about an entirely new way to tell a story, far different from traditional TV. I didn’t just want to talk about ‘saving the world’ in fiction, I wanted to create a narrative that spilled out into the streets.”

-Tim Kring

We LOVE a good story, so naturally we were intrigued when we read about Conspiracy for Good’s Social Benefit Storytelling. Tim Kring, creator of the hit television show “Heroes,” had a pretty radical idea to do storytelling differently than he had ever done before. Thus, the birth of this pilot-project: Social Benefit Storytelling. Essentially it is an interactive story that empowers its audience to take real-life action and create positive change in the world. They began in 2010 with the “London Experience.”

This is a remarkable method of merging philanthropy and storytelling. Social Benefit Storytelling effectively uses technology to gather and commission people to become directly involved with a cause through a story. We hope the Conspiracy for Good keeps creating these incredible stories and making a positive change in the world.

As we are always looking for a good story-especially those which may not be in the limelight-we  are so excited about Scion’s iQ Project Museum!

The Scion iQ Project Museum aims to spotlight influential and under-recognized musicians, artistic movements and musical communities.  As a living site, the Museum will evolve over an extended period of time with new material added to existing exhibits along with the unveiling of new exhibits.  Through historical storytelling, criticism, commentary and the archiving of rare artistic and musical artifacts, the Scion iQ Project Museum aims to serve as an inspiration for all generations, past, present and future.  The Museum serves as resource for the study of contributions to music, art and culture that might otherwise be lost to time.

You can learn so much from visiting this online living museum! There are currently five exhibitions up, so check ’em out! You will most definitely learn something you didn’t know before and you just might fall in love with producer and comedic raconteur Prince Paul like we did!

under gun 1

“Under the Gun” is our March show!  We still have some storyteller slots to fill, and we know you’re out there, dying to tell us your stories.

Deadlines. The pressure to finish, to find something, to begin, to end, to fight or to stay alive. We have all experienced some kind of strenuous situation in which we feel under the gun…or maybe you actually were at the other end of a gun.

Either way, we want to hear about it.

We are specifically looking for some juicy stories from police officers, security folks, detectives, anyone who carries a gun regularly. Or perhaps you were in some kind of shootout.

The deadline to submit for “Under the Gun” is  March 1st at 5:00 PM.  To submit, just visit our Submissions page!
